Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with clients and internal teams to define strategic briefs, uncover consumer, shopper and category insights, and translate them into clear, actionable frameworks that guide creative work.
  • Lead strategic development of FMCG and tobacco brand projects, bringing sharp insight, category knowledge and commercial thinking to inform creative direction and brand positioning.
  • Navigate complex regulatory and compliance environments, ensuring strategic recommendations are appropriate, responsible and aligned with category constraints.
  • Facilitate and lead strategic workshops, research discussions and collaborative sessions that drive alignment across multidisciplinary teams and senior client stakeholders.
  • Analyse market trends, competitive landscapes, consumer behaviour and cultural signals to identify growth opportunities within tightly controlled categories.
  • Develop and present persuasive strategic narratives, brand architectures, positioning platforms and rationale that support creative concepts and build client confidence.
  • Work flexibly across multiple briefs and deliverables, managing time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency setting.
  • Support and mentor junior strategists and contribute to the ongoing evolution of strategic thinking and tools within the agency.

Key Skills

  • Extensive experience in brand strategy, planning or insight roles within FMCG – with demonstrable experience working on tobacco brands or similarly regulated categories.
  • Deep understanding of consumer behaviour, shopper dynamics and category mechanics, with the ability to apply insight within regulatory and commercial constraints.
  • Strong strategic, analytical and conceptual thinking skills, paired with the ability to clearly articulate strategy to creative teams and clients.
  • Confidence leading senior client engagements, presentations and workshops with authority and clarity.
  • Highly collaborative mindset, able to work closely with creative, account and production teams to ensure strategy meaningfully informs creative output.
  • Curious, thoughtful and culturally aware, with a disciplined approach to problem solving.
